# Set up ticket sales for a comedy show

> Create your comedy show, offer general admission or reserved seats, set ticket tiers, and configure arrival messages and check-in.

Use **Comedy Show** for admission to a performance you organize. It starts as one paid general-admission event. A ticket type named for a table or section does not create reserved seating by itself.

## Template starting point

| Setting | Initial choice |
| - | - |
| Schedule | One day |
| Admission | Paid tickets |
| First offer | General Admission · suggested price 25 in your site’s currency |
| Capacity | 100 |
| Attendees choose a time | Not enabled |

These are editable suggestions, not recommended prices or venue limits. Replace the dates, price, and capacity with your own. See [how onboarding works](./overview#complete-onboarding).

## Choose the onboarding answers

Open **Create Event** in the selected workspace.

1. Select **Comedy Show**, enter the show title, and set the performance date/time.
2. Keep **Paid tickets** for open seating or choose **Assigned seating** for a mapped room.
3. Replace the suggested price and capacity. Use **Continue later** if you need to finish the seating map or different offers in draft.

<Note>**Create my event** may publish immediately when the requirements are met. Use **Continue later** to finish setup as a draft. Review any plan or publishing message before sharing the event.</Note>

## Finish the event settings

| Where to go | What to configure |
| - | - |
| **Tickets** | Create Standard, premium, or other offers and configure sales windows and purchase limits. |
| **Seating** | Use a published chart for allocated chairs or tables. Map the ticket prices to categories using [seat selection settings](/seating-charts/seat-selection). |
| **Dates & Times** | For repeated performances, configure and review each occurrence. Do not use one ticket’s wording to imply every show is included. |
| **Venue & Location and description** | State the room, doors time, and what is included with admission. |
| **Email Communication and check-in** | Send arrival instructions and prepare the [mobile ticket scanner](/mobile-app/mobile-check-in). |

## Early and late shows

If you run two performances on the same date, configure them as distinct selectable sessions or occurrences in [Dates & Times](/event-management/datetime). Check each show’s capacity and ticket scope. The Comedy Show onboarding template does not offer the tour-specific time-slot question; finish that schedule in the full editor. For reserved seats, each occurrence’s availability must be verified separately.

## Check the attendee experience

* Choose the early and late show separately and verify the date/time on each booking.
* Check the price and admission scope for every ticket tier.
* Confirm the reserved seat or open-seating instructions and the allowed check-in window.

Review the event’s saved status and [publish/share controls](/event-management/manage-events) when it is ready. Return to [all event types](./overview) to compare starting points.
