# Set up free event registration and RSVP

> Create a free RSVP event, set attendance limits, customize the registration form, and manage confirmations, waitlists, and guest check-in.

Use **Free RSVP** when you want people to register without an admission charge. The template starts as one RSVP event with a suggested capacity of 100. Event capacity, ticket inventory, and your account allowances are separate controls.

## Template starting point

| Setting | Initial choice |
| - | - |
| Schedule | One day |
| Admission | Free RSVP |
| First offer | No admission charge (RSVP) |
| Capacity | 100 |
| Attendees choose a time | Not enabled |

These are editable suggestions, not recommended prices or venue limits. Replace the dates, price, and capacity with your own. See [how onboarding works](./overview#complete-onboarding).

## Choose the onboarding answers

Open **Create Event** in the selected workspace.

1. Choose **Browse more templates → Advanced → Free RSVP**, then name the event.
2. Set the date/time or choose the appropriate recurring schedule.
3. Keep **Free RSVP** and enter the maximum attendance under **How many people can come?** Leave it blank only when there should be no event-wide cap.

<Note>**Create my event** may publish immediately when the requirements are met. Use **Continue later** to finish setup as a draft. Review any plan or publishing message before sharing the event.</Note>

## Finish the event settings

| Where to go | What to configure |
| - | - |
| **Event Details → Event Setup** | Confirm **RSVP or Simple Registration** and the intended privacy and timezone. |
| **Capacity** | Set the overall limit and review any remaining registration or account limits. Unlimited capacity does not remove every other limit. |
| **Additional Info** | Build the [registration form](/event-management/additional-information) and choose which fields are required and collected for each person. |
| **Waitlist** | Configure a [waitlist](/event-management/waitlist) if you want to invite people when places become available. |
| **Email Communication and attendees** | Review the confirmation and use the [attendee dashboard](/attendee-management/managing-attendees) to manage registrations and check-in. |

## Free RSVP, a free ticket, or no registration

Choose the experience you need. RSVP/simple registration is the onboarding choice here. A free ticket under **Sell Tickets** keeps a ticket-selection workflow without an admission price. **Display Only** shows an event without registration. These are separate [Event Setup choices](/event-management/eventdetails#event-setup); review the public result after changing them. A zero admission charge does not mean your account has unlimited plan usage.

## Check the attendee experience

* Submit the form and verify that no admission payment is requested.
* Check required fields, attendee records, and confirmation content.
* Test the intended capacity or waitlist behavior before sharing the event.

Review the event’s saved status and [publish/share controls](/event-management/manage-events) when it is ready. Return to [all event types](./overview) to compare starting points.
