# Set up meetup registration and RSVPs

> Create a meetup RSVP page, set attendance capacity, collect registration details, and manage reminders and a waitlist in Ticket Spot.

Use **Meetup** for a community gathering or networking event where you want registrations without charging admission. This creates a Ticket Spot event; it does not import or synchronize a listing from Meetup.com.

## Template starting point

| Setting | Initial choice |
| - | - |
| Schedule | One day |
| Admission | Free RSVP |
| First offer | No admission charge (RSVP) |
| Capacity | 100 |
| Attendees choose a time | Not enabled |

These are editable suggestions, not recommended prices or venue limits. Replace the dates, price, and capacity with your own. See [how onboarding works](./overview#complete-onboarding).

## Choose the onboarding answers

Open **Create Event** in the selected workspace.

1. Select **Meetup** and name the gathering.
2. Set **One day** and the correct start/end times. Change to **Weekly** or **Monthly** for a regular group, including the series end date.
3. Leave **Free RSVP** selected and replace the suggested 100-person limit with your venue capacity. Leave capacity blank only when you intend no event-wide cap.

<Note>**Create my event** may publish immediately when the requirements are met. Use **Continue later** to finish setup as a draft. Review any plan or publishing message before sharing the event.</Note>

## Finish the event settings

| Where to go | What to configure |
| - | - |
| **Event Details** | Review RSVP/simple registration, timezone, event description, and the overall capacity. |
| **Venue & Location** | Provide the venue or online joining information and explain how guests find the group. |
| **Additional Info** | Collect useful networking fields such as company or interests using [registration questions](/event-management/additional-information). |
| **Waitlist** | Configure [capacity triggers and invitations](/event-management/waitlist) if the venue has a limited number of places. |
| **Email Communication** | Confirm registration and send a reminder with the meeting location and contact details. |

## Public group or private gathering

Keep the event visible for an open meetup. For a restricted gathering, review [event privacy](/event-management/eventdetails#privacy): hiding a listing still allows someone with its direct link to open it, while the hosted-page access-code setting controls access. If you need paid attendance instead, change the admission choice and configure [ticket payments](/account/get-paid).

## Check the attendee experience

* Submit an RSVP and check that it has no admission charge.
* Verify the guest details, confirmation, and correct meeting time.
* If restricted or at capacity, check the access-code or waitlist experience as applicable.

Review the event’s saved status and [publish/share controls](/event-management/manage-events) when it is ready. Return to [all event types](./overview) to compare starting points.
