# Set up workshop registration and sell workshop tickets

> Create a workshop registration form, price workshop seats, limit capacity, and collect participant choices before sending preparation reminders.

Use **Workshop** for a practical session with limited places. The template begins as a one-day paid event with a **Workshop Seat** ticket and capacity 20. It does not reserve a numbered chair unless you enable assigned seating.

## Template starting point

| Setting | Initial choice |
| - | - |
| Schedule | One day |
| Admission | Paid tickets |
| First offer | Workshop Seat · suggested price 25 in your site’s currency |
| Capacity | 20 |
| Attendees choose a time | Not enabled |

These are editable suggestions, not recommended prices or venue limits. Replace the dates, price, and capacity with your own. See [how onboarding works](./overview#complete-onboarding).

## Choose the onboarding answers

Open **Create Event** in the selected workspace.

1. Select **Workshop**, name the session, and replace the suggested date and times.
2. Keep **Paid tickets** for a paid workshop or choose **Free RSVP** for a free one.
3. Set the actual seat count and price. Choose **Continue later** to finish participant questions and preparation instructions before launch.

<Note>**Create my event** may publish immediately when the requirements are met. Use **Continue later** to finish setup as a draft. Review any plan or publishing message before sharing the event.</Note>

## Finish the event settings

| Where to go | What to configure |
| - | - |
| **Tickets** | Review available quantity, per-order limits, and sales close time. Name any different participant offers clearly. |
| **Additional Info** | Create the [workshop registration form](/event-management/additional-information) with experience level, equipment choices, or other needed answers. |
| **Venue & Location** | Add the room or online joining details and describe what participants should bring. |
| **Waitlist** | Enable the [sold-out waitlist](/event-management/waitlist) when you want to offer released places to interested guests. |
| **Email Communication** | Configure confirmation and reminder content for preparation, materials, and arrival. |

## Preferences versus reserved places

A question can collect a participant’s preference, but it does not reserve inventory for a second session. If a workshop includes optional, capacity-limited sessions, create those as ticketed [add-on events](/event-management/event-add-ons). For weekly classes or a package of visits, use [Class](./class) and configure membership entitlements separately from dates.

## Check the attendee experience

* Submit a registration with the required workshop answers and inspect the attendee record.
* Check the checkout quantity limit and sold-out behavior.
* Review the reminder for the correct date, venue, and preparation instructions.

Review the event’s saved status and [publish/share controls](/event-management/manage-events) when it is ready. Return to [all event types](./overview) to compare starting points.
