# Set up a self check-in kiosk

> Open an event kiosk on a dedicated device, customize its presentation, and verify attendee self check-in.

A self check-in kiosk gives attendees a dedicated event check-in screen. It is a separate surface from the staff mobile scanner and the ticket-sales POS app.

1. Open a saved event and find the kiosk controls in **Event Details**. Choose the link expiry and click **Generate Kiosk URL**. Copy the resulting **Kiosk URL**.
2. Open **Design → Attendee Communication → Self Check-In Kiosk** to customize the kiosk presentation.
3. Open the event's kiosk link on the device attendees will use and choose a full-screen presentation suitable for the venue.
4. Verify the displayed event and date, then use a test attendee to complete the on-screen lookup and check-in flow.
5. Check the attendee record and [check-in analytics](/analytics/check-in-analytics) to confirm the result.
6. Position staff nearby to help with missing tickets, invalid entries, or accessibility needs.

Check the displayed expiry before the event. Use **Generate New Kiosk URL** if expired, or **Regenerate** when replacing the link, then update the device with the current URL. Keep the kiosk connected during operation. For staff scanning in a venue with unreliable internet, prepare the [mobile offline workflow](/mobile-app/offline-check-in) separately.

Kiosk check-in and POS ticket printing have different setup paths. Use the [printer guide](/on-site/ticket-printing) for the supported POS printers and verify any badge-printing equipment with the kiosk workflow before relying on it at the door.
