The Ticket Selector is the product-page app block for the Ticket Spot booking flow. Use it for dates/time slots, assigned seating, hidden-ticket access codes, required tickets, and quantity rules. It selects the tickets and passes the purchase to Shopify checkout.

Before you start

Connect the Shopify store, create the event, configure its ticket offer, and publish/update the linked Shopify product. For seating, use a published chart and assign ticket categories. See Connect Shopify and seating setup.

Install the product block

  1. Open your Shopify theme editor and choose the product template assigned to the event product.
  2. Add the Ticket Selector app block inside the product section.
  3. Choose Display Mode:
  1. Save the template and open the actual event product using that template.
  2. Review any standard product variant or buy controls still on the template. Ensure customers can reach the intended ticket-selection flow without a competing purchase path that omits its required selections.
  3. Test the page on desktop and mobile, including the enlarged seating view when seating is enabled.
The block has one theme setting: Display Mode. Configure ticket rules in the event editor, widget design and wording in Design → Widget, and product behavior in Shopify Setup. Changing display mode does not change ticket inventory or pricing.

Product settings and attendee details

Open the event’s Shopify Setup. Collection controls where the product is organized; Location is the Shopify inventory location, separate from the attendee-facing venue. Product configuration includes Buy Tickets Button Text (or Button Text), Use Advanced Ticket Selector, and Display Ticket Status on Button. The last option disables the product button and shows its status when the event is ended, sold out, or unavailable. Select Save Changes in this panel. For per-ticket details, use Design → Widget → Checkout → Collect attendee details for each ticket and configure event questions. Logged-in Shopify customer details can prefill the selector. Test both a signed-in customer and a guest.

Dates, seats, and access

Choose the event occurrence before checking its availability. Depending on the widget configuration, tickets may appear before dates or on the same step. Custom day tickets can differ from the shared event offer. For seating, select available objects on the map and choose the applicable ticket price when a category offers multiple ticket types. Confirm the chosen seats, quantities, and total before continuing. A temporary seat selection is not a completed booking. For hidden tickets, enable the access-code field in widget Checkout settings. Keep full invitation links intact for waitlist purchases; removing their personalized information can remove access.

Verify the complete purchase

Test each feature the event uses:
  • Two dates/time slots, including one with different custom tickets or sold-out inventory.
  • Each seating category and price choice, plus an unavailable seat and mobile full-screen selection.
  • A valid and invalid access code; a dependent ticket with and without its Required Ticket.
  • Minimum/maximum quantities, per-attendee details, and required questions.
  • A waitlist invitation, its ticket restriction, and its quantity limit.
  • The handoff to Shopify cart or checkout, completed order, Ticket Spot attendee records, ticket delivery, and Thank You page access.
