Use Ticket Spot POS for walk-up ticket sales on Business and higher. Configure the event and tickets in Ticket Spot before opening the box office.

Prepare the device

  1. Install and sign in to Ticket Spot POS with an account that can access the event’s site.
  2. Select the site and event. Check the ticket types, prices, remaining quantities, and event date.
  3. For card payments, install and sign in to Square POS on the device. Pair your supported card reader in Square.
  4. In Ticket Spot POS settings, review Square Payments and use Check Square POS installation or Open Square POS.
  5. Configure a ticket printer if you will hand out physical tickets.
Checking that Square is installed does not process a payment. Verify the complete sale flow before the event starts.

Complete a walk-up sale

  1. Select the event and ticket quantities in Ticket Spot POS.
  2. Review the cart and enter the customer information requested for the sale.
  3. At payment, choose the Square payment option or Cash Payment.
  4. For Square, complete payment in Square POS and return to Ticket Spot. For cash, collect the money and complete the cash workflow.
  5. Confirm the order succeeded, the attendee records exist, and tickets are delivered or printed before admitting the customer.
Ticket selection happens in Ticket Spot; the Square app handles the payment step. Use the payment options offered by that handoff rather than assuming every tender available elsewhere in Square is supported.

Resolve an interrupted sale

If payment is canceled or the app loses connection, check both the Ticket Spot order and the Square transaction before charging again. A successful payment and a printed ticket are separate results: if printing fails after a successful order, recover the existing ticket rather than creating a second sale. Review sales analytics and attendee records alongside your payment provider’s transactions. Cash collected at the desk is not a Square card payout.
